How to use
3 easy steps
It's very easy to use sRED. You can use it in the following three steps.
Step 1. Place the belt around your neck and place the case over your larynx (Adam's apple).
Step 2. Close the valve knob to send air into the balloon, inflate it, and apply pressure.

Step 3. Swallow saliva (= swallow saliva) about 30 times.

How to determine the load?
The load needs to be adjusted each time taking into account the person's physical condition and swallowing function at the time, but as a guideline there are three stages.
- Easy: 0 to 20 mmHg
- Moderate: 20 to 40 mmHg
- Hard: 40-80 mmHg
These loads are the values that Professor Reza Shakir used in his research to investigate the effects on the swallowing function of the elderly, so please use them as a reference. Note that if the load exceeds 80 mmHg, even if you are able to swallow, it may put strain on the cervical vertebrae, so increase the load gradually over a long period of time until you get used to it.

Check before you use it!
sRED is a tool and training method that is wrapped around the throat and inflated to apply pressure to the larynx (Adam's apple). Therefore, incorrect application to the wrong person, incorrect wearing or operation, or excessive load or tightening can lead to compression of the carotid artery or cervical vertebrae, which may result in a serious accident. Please be sure to read the precautions in the instruction manual before use.
